Bear's Ancestors...
I love this picture. It is from a 1961 casting call for a black cat to star in a Hollywood movie. Odd how they're all on leashes instead of in carriers... I wonder how many cat fights broke out that day.

Cat carriers may not have been invented at the time. Maybe that casting call is what spurred the notion that people need to put their crazy cats in a cage to transport them. Or maybe cats back in the day were more chill than they are now.
I don't think that there were a lot of cat fights. Look how nicely behaved all the kitties are!
My cat would so not be happy with a leash!
