Real Life Bob Ross...

During our time in Reno, we were lucky enough to have Don & Marilyn take us up to Lake Tahoe to soak in the gorgeous scenery. It was literally like being in a Bob Ross painting.

Check the waterfall...

The next day of our trip, it was off to Virigina City, a 19th century silver mine town that was at one time the richest city in the whole world. Today it's home to several saloons and shops set along wooden sidewalks, all with that old-west feel.

Jim wanted to drink a beer in a real saloon...

The day also included a stop at Donner State Park- near where the infamous saga of the Donner party unfolded in the 1840's. We also saw Donner Lake and Donner Pass along the way. The stones on this monument mark the height of the snow (over 20 ft) from the winter they were stuck in the mountains.

Check back tomorrow for more stories and photos from our trip.
